Sencha Fukamushi is the signature expression of our tea making philosophy. Crafted for daily enjoyment, it reflects eight decades of hands-on practice and careful attention at every stage of production. This sencha is steamed in the fukamushi, or deep-steamed, style common to Shizuoka, Japan, allowing the leaves to break down more fully and release a rich, vivid character in the cup. It is then finished at a higher drying temperature (火入れ・hi-ire), a defining approach of the Sugimoto family that brings depth, warmth, and consistency to the tea. The result is a sencha with a full body, pronounced aroma, and a lingering umami finish that remains satisfying through multiple infusions. Mizuhiki is a traditional Japanese decorative cord, used to mark moments of gratitude, respect, and connection. On our packaging, it serves as a quiet s
