Nukut a Nabe Mustard Yellow Thermal Shock Resistant Japanese Clay Pot
Product Description
Experience the craftsmanship of this original clay pot āęø©ććŖć¹ā (read āNukutanabeā, literally āwarm clay potā) handcrafted by Marushige Touki in the renowned Mino-yaki pottery region of Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
Ā
Why youāll love it:
⢠Engineered for exceptional thermal shock resistance: tested across a 300 °C temperature drop ā even when immersed in water while still hot ā it wonāt crack. This enables versatile cooking methods beyond traditional clay-pot use: searing meat, baking naan and more.
⢠Easy to maintain: A hydrophobic (water-repelling) surface treatment prevents heavy sticking of rice or other ingredients. Even if there is some char, simple scrubbing removes it easily. No initial āsoaking porridgeā preparation required.
⢠Safe and trustworthy: Lead and cadmium were not detected in testing conducted at the Gifu Prefectural Ceramic Testing Laboratory.
⢠Specifications: Handle-to-handle width ā 35 cm; Diameter ā 25 cm; Height ā 10 cm (22.5 cm including lid). Capacity: approx. 4 rice cups (4 gÅ). Weight: approx. 3.7 kg. Material: Ceramic (direct-fire clay pot). Production: Japan (Mino-yaki). Please note: as each pot is handcrafted, slight variation in shape and color is to be expected ā and part of its charm.
⢠Care instructions: Ready to use immediately after washingāno āsealā cooking required. However, avoid deep-frying usage, and when using for empty-pot baking (such as baked sweet potato), do not place directly from the hot pot onto a table ā use a heat-resistant trivet and handle with care. Clean with a palm-fiber scrubber or soft sponge; for heavier burns a new metal scourer will suffice. Avoid dishwashers. Because ceramic is slightly porous, quickly rinse off detergents.
